We\u2019re here to break down who\u2019s eligible, how to apply, what funding is out there, and the latest updates to national and local schemes.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>The EV Charger Grant That Could Save You Money at Home: The Electric Vehicle Chargepoint Grant (EVCG)<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you drive an EV and own a home with its own private driveway, scouting out a charger and getting one installed at home is pretty straight forward (and once your charger is installed you have full reign in taking advantage of programs like <a href=\"https:\/\/chargeguru.com\/uk\/co-charger\/\">Co Charger<\/a> to get the most out of your electrification journey)! But for homeowners who don&#8217;t have their own private driveway, the EV charging solutions available to you largely depend on whether you have adequate on-street parking. Whether a cross-pavement charging solution can be installed at your property will be decided by your local planning and highways authorities, or by private landowners if applicable.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you&#8217;re a renter and thought switching to EV felt out of reach, we have some good news. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Electric Vehicle Chargepoint Grant, which is available until March 31, 2026, was created to encourage more individuals \u2013 particularly renters \u2013 to switch to electric vehicles. You could claim up to \u00a3350\/\u20ac300 for the purchase of a charger and its installation with the following grants:<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><b>In the UK:<\/b><\/h4>\n<h4><strong>1. <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.find-government-grants.service.gov.uk\/grants\/electric-vehicle-chargepoint-grant-for-households-with-on-street-parking-1\">Electric Vehicle Chargepoint Grant for Households with On-Street Parking:<\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Get 75% off the cost to buy and install a socket, up to a maximum of \u00a3350. <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You can apply for this grant if you:<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Own or rent a residential property in which you live.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Have adequate on-street parking as defined by your local planning and highways authority.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Have permission from your local planning and highways authority to install a cross-pavement charging solution.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Will install a cross-pavement charging solution before having your chargepoint installed.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><i>2. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/electric-vehicle-chargepoint-grant-household\">Electric Vehicle Chargepoint Grant for Renters and Flat Owners:<\/a><\/i><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">You can get either \u00a3350 or 75% off the cost to buy and install a socket, whichever amount is lower.<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You must rent or have a shared ownership building with your own parking space on-site.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><b>In Ireland:<\/b><\/h4>\n<h4><strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.seai.ie\/grants\/electric-vehicle-grants\/electric-vehicle-charging\/electric-vehicle-home-charger-grant\">SEAI Electric Vehicle Home Charger Grant:<\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Homeowners can apply for a grant of up to \u20ac300 towards the purchase and installation of a home charger. <em>The application must be completed before installation begins.<\/em><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>Grants for Landlords and Property Managers<\/b><\/h2>\n<p>If you\u2019re a landlord, now\u2019s a great time to consider installing EV chargers at your properties.<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> With <a href=\"https:\/\/go.chargeguru.com\/ev-charging-guide-for-property-managers\">more tenants driving electric vehicles<\/a>, offering a charging point can help you stand out from the rest; it adds value to your property and shows you&#8217;re thinking ahead.
